Is it legal to buy research peptides?
This is general information, not legal advice, and the answer depends heavily on your country — laws change and vary, so consult a licensed attorney for your situation. In the United States, the FDA treats most peptides marketed for human use as unapproved new drugs; products labeled "research use only / not for human consumption" do not get a legal pass for personal use, and that labeling does not make them approved or safe. Enforcement has tightened — the FDA expanded Import Alert 66-78 in 2025 to subject a number of unapproved peptides to detention at the border, and the agency's personal-importation discretion requires criteria (such as no available domestic treatment) that these products rarely meet. Other countries (UK, EU, Australia, Canada) have their own, often stricter, rules.
